Bollywood ex-flames, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor took the industry by storm when they decided to get together for an exciting new project this year; Udta Punjab. Although it is rumoured that the duo won’t be seen sharing any screen space together, the ex-lovers sure did share some space earlier this month during the trailer launch of the movie.
Although the duo came together for the movie’s promotion, on-lookers could spot a certain sense of awkwardness between the two leading stars. Having stood far apart from each other the entire time, Alia Bhatt constantly took a place between the duo.
Shahid and Kareena were seen addressing the media with all their will and obliged to answer every question posed by the media. Although no media person struck a question regarding their past affair, the level of discomfort between the two wasn’t ignored by them keen eye of media either.
At a recent promotional event, Shahid Kapoor was questioned about the alleged awkwardness between the two to which the actor decided to reveal why he chose to maintain a certain distance with the actress.
Stating that there wasn’t any intentional sense of awkwardness, the actor went on to reveal that the duo came together as a part of the movie and thus didn’t want the focus to move away from it.
“If Kareena and I had pictures together, then people would write and talk about just that. We were there as a team of four to promote Udta Punjab. I wanted the movie to be represented well. That is why we made sure we are standing in a way that the press will not click pics that they wanted to; which are controversial and put out something wrong out there. We wanted to be correct about the representation of the film.”
Well, Shahid; the soon to be father, and Kareena; the alleged soon to be mommy, sure do seem to have their priorities set right this time. Guess it’s time for us to move on from past flings and focus on the upcoming ventures as well!
