The prospect of doing good work and making her presence felt on the small screen again made Gauri Pradhan take up the role of Falguni Parekh in ‘Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi’ being aired on COLORS currently.
However, the role was not meant to satisfy the actor in Gauri which is why she has taken the call to quit the show for good.
A news daily reports that Gauri was not cool with the scope of performance she was given in ‘Meri Aashiqui…’ A source was quoted by the daily as saying, “She had agreed to play mother to the lead actress (Radhika Madan) only because she thought it would be a meaty role and would have scope to perform," says a source.
The source explained further to bring out a clear picture. "After Hiten Tejwani (her real life husband) entered the show (as Nitin Joshi), she (Gauri) felt that things would improve and the focus would be on them. But since that too didn't happen, she decided to opt out and the production house too agreed to end her role. It was an amicable decision," told the source to the daily.
Gauri’s character will be shown dying perhaps in the upcoming episode of the series. She has returned to television after 5 years. Her last show was ‘Kumkum’ (2009) in which she appeared as a cameo.
