Veteran actors like Vidyadhar Karmarkar are an inspiration for the younger generation of actors who struggle to cope up with hectic work life and long work hours. Even at 90, Vidyadhar aka Dadaji of Siddharth Kumar Tewary's new show ‘Manmarzian’ refuses to retire from the acting business. Knows as the oldest actor on television, such is his spirit that even after falling sick in the freezing cold weather of Holy town Rishikesh, he refused to stop the shoot to come back to Mumbai.
Instead, he finished his work b shooting in Rishikesh for two months with the cast, crew and the production house. However, Vidydhar took extra precautions regarding his health and was provided a doctor during the shoot to deal with the grilling weather.
Vidyadhar Karmarkar has gained much fame in the world of drama and acting and has first-hand experience in directing many shows. We asked him what is his motivation to work at this age and he said, “Is there anything better to do? I would prefer to be onscreen than sit at home and watch people be onscreen. Also my role is not a typical, dependent, depressed old grandfather. I am a dreamer who likes to dream and support others to pursue their dreams. So it’s a fun role”.
