Dimpy and Rahul Mahajan have filed for divorce by mutual consent. Controversy’s favorite child, Rahul Mahajan is again in news for some bad reason. This time finally the couple has taken a step further and decided to separate their ways legally.
We all know that Rahul and Dimpy were the first couple on Indian television to marry on a reality show. Rahul Mahajan was roped in for Rahul Dulhania Le Jayega in 2010, a reality show which was based on Swayamvar. Dimpy won the contest and they married in front of the entire country. But soon, after 4 months Dimpy alleged Rahul in a Mumbai tabloid that he has physically assaulted her. But that time, Rahul apologized and brought her back home. For few years both of them have participated in many TV shows and have been in news.
Rahul apparently had a dark past, he was earlier caught in a cocaine scandal and then separated with his first wife Shweta who was his childhood sweetheart. Shweta also complained about domestic violence.
Now, Dimpy and Rahul have filed for divorce and wanted to skip off the six month counselling session meant for the couples to re-decide their marriage. But the Family Court judge has rejected their plea. The Indian law requires all couples to wait for six months, only when the counsellor gives a negative report, then divorce is granted.
Both Dimpy and Rahul are not giving their comments to media.
Well, let’s see whether these six months will save their marriage or they would separate.
