Pooja Banerjee, the name needs no introduction. After winning praises from audience for her role in Swim Team, the lady is back again on small screen with Nagarjun on Life OK.
Initially reluctant to take up a mytho show, Pooja finally gave a nod to Nagarjun only after being convinced that the series will be based on mythology in the current scenario. “After doing a mythological series, I was not very keen on taking up another mytho project. Only after I was convinced that it will not be a typical mythological show, I agreed to do it. I am playing such a character, with whom every girl of my age can relate to.”
For the role of Noorie, Puja has to perform quite a few number of stunts, which she is doing a pro. Describing her as a born stunt woman, Pooja believes that her experience in athletics have prepared her to perform action sequence with such élan.
Pooja says, “I was a very naughty girl in school, who never used to shy away from doing something bold. I remember once a German Shephard started chasing me and I had to climb and jump great heights to save myself. I guess from such experiences I have developed such skills. Now I am so pro at stunts that I train others for the same (laugh).”
Ask her if she fears of being overshadowed in a male dominated show, Pooja with a big smile replies, “From the very beginning I was aware that the story will focus on Anshuman and that’s the biggest challenge for me to stand out in the crowd dominated by male actors. I am sure that if can perform well on my part, I can never get overshadowed.”
Many young actors fall in love with their co-stars on the set, so is there any possibility of same happening with Pooja as well? Pooja shares after a brief laugh, “I don’t think so. I am a very practical person and I am quite friendly with my co-stars, but you will never see me falling head over heels for them. I will maintain a certain distance with all my colleagues and my personal life will be absolutely different from that one.”
