Hate ‘Em Or Love ‘Em: The T.V Serials With The Highest TRP’s

We know we rag on Indian television shows for their often, clichéd, boring content. One would think that, in a generation where Netflix and online streaming is so prevalent, folks would be watching less T.V? Not so much, because these shows have massive audiences and weirdly enough, the most terrible shows have the highest TRP's. In fact, it's like an equation: the worse the show is, the higher the ratings are. Don't believe us? Read ahead for the proof.

Yeh Hai Mohabbatein: This love story slash family drama takes the second spot with an approximate 3.1 ranking. The show began in 2013 and is still successfully running. We are still wondering how, because the plot is unbelievably boring. Couple, family, kid, hate ... YAWN.

Naagin: The story of this show may leave you baffled you, but it has the highest TRP on television, hitting a 4.3 rating. If you thought the show was all about snakes, you are wrong. Apart from the protagonists, Icchadhari Naagins, there are other animals-disguised-as-humans in the show. There is an icchadhari peacock and an icchadhari mongoose. We're not even kidding.

Kumkum Bhagya: This show takes the third position with a rating of 3.1. It's about a couple who used to hate each other, got married and THEN fell in love ... and now the family's all up in their business. Double yawn.

Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki: This is the only new show (it started in 2016) on this list and currently holds the fifth position with 2.4 TRP rating. "Rishi" must marry "Tanu" before he turns 23, because a sadhu told the family that. But obviously, his mom's all like ... HELL, NO. And ... well, just watch the show. The producers will love you for it.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya: The current TRP rating of the show is 2.7 which makes it the fourth most watched serial. In the last five years of Saath Nibhana Saathiya, the lead character Gopi Ahem Modi has been replaced, several other characters came on and left and ... sorry, we've already lost interest
