Kapil Sharma and controversies go hand-in-hand, but this latest bit of news will definitely shock you. According to a national daily, the stand-up comedian’s latest outing The Kapil Sharma Show is under the spotlight…and not for the right reasons.
According to reports, nursing staff from various prestigious institutes staged a protest against the show and its negative portrayal of nurses, at a hospital in Amritsar.
Kapil and Navjot Singh Siddhu, both from Amritsar, became nursing staff’s target following the comedy show’s crass content on the nursing community, the report adds.
The daily quoted Raj Bedi, State General Secretary, Punjab Nursing Association, saying, "How can Sidhu be part of a show like this that demeans someone's profession? He keeps laughing at jokes made about the medical profession, including those on doctors, even when his wife Navjot Kaur Sidhu (Amritsar-East MLA) is a doctor. We as a community expected that Sidhu would not support this nonsense and such vulgar jokes. Nurses have been objectified on the show since its beginning."
Moreover, a defamation case may be filed against Kapil for the content, the report states.
