    TV actors who passed away in last few years

    Pratyusha Banerjee:
    Television actress Pratyusha Banerjee, known for her role in popular TV series Balika Vadhu, committed suicide on Friday.
    A Mumbai police officer said the 24-year-old was found hanging from a ceiling fan at her house in Mumbai’s Goregaon.
    Banerjee was rushed to the Kokilaben Ambani Hospital in Andheri but was declared dead upon arrival.
    Deputy commissioner of police Dhananjay Kulkarni confirmed the incident. The reason behind the suicide was not immediately clear.
    Banerjee was best known for her debut role in Balika Vadhu. She later shifted to reality shows and participated in Bigg Boss 7. Her last outing on TV was in Sasural Simar Ka where she played a negative role.



    TV actor Sanjit Bedi of 'Sanjivani' fame dies: Actor Sanjit Bedi, who shot to fame with popular TV serial 'Sanjivani' passed away on June 24, 2015 due to a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife Rekha Bhatia. 

    Bedi was known for his role as Dr Omi in 'Sanjivani', which also starred Mohnish Bahl, Gurdeep Kohli, Rupali Ganguly and many other. Besides 'Sanjivani', the actor also starred in 'Jaane Kya Baat Huyi', 'Thodi Si Zameen Thoda Sa Aasman', 'Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka', 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay' and few others. 

    According to reports, Bedi was suffering from a brain virus and was in coma for sometime. 

    Baa passes away: Veteran actress, Sudha Shivpuri, more popular for playing the role of 'Baa' in Ekta Kapoor's longest running TV show ' Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi' died on May 20th morning. She was 79. According to reports, the actress had not been keeping well since 2013. She also suffered a heart attack in December 2013 for which she was in hospital for 6 months. 

    Entertainment industry lost a talented actor as Ashraf-ul-Haq passed away on February 17, 2015. An NSD graduate, Haq hailed from Goalpara in Assam. His contribution to Hindi cinema was significant and he had been part of more than 30 Hindi films, TV shows and commercials. He breathed his last at Andheri, Mumbai. He was suffering from a rare disorder called Myelodysplastic Syndrome and was undergoing treatment for the past two years. He is survived by his wife and 9-year-old son Ibrahim. He proved his talent with films like 'Deewar', 'Paan Singh Tomar', 'Fukrey', 'Company' and the recently released movie 'The Lost Beharupiya'. 

    Rakesh Diwana: Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai actor Rakesh Diwana, who portrayed the character of Maharaj Ji in the show passed away on 27th April, 2014, morning due to illness caused after undergoing a bariatric surgery in Indore. Surprisingly, Rakesh Diwana was not suffering from any major diseases and his sudden death is a bit suspicious says his daughter Shivani Diwana. Rakesh had earlier acted in Ramayan on Imagine and had also contributed his talent in Bollywood movies like Hello Hum Lallan Bol Rahe Hain, Baabarr and Manoranjan:The entertainer. 

    Ragesh Asthana: Noted actor Ragesh Asthana who has contributed immensely to the entertainment industry breathed his last on 20th March, 2014. Close friends of Ragesh said that he had lost his voice before he had a massive heart attack. Though he was immediately rushed to the hospital, the efforts were futile. The actor was seen in many shows like 'Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo','Palampur Express', 'Katputli' and was last seen in 'Gumraah' on Channel V. Not only TV, Ragesh had also acted in Bollywood movies such as 'Taxi No. 9 2 11: Nau Do Gyarah', 'Black Friday', 'Rakhta Charitra 2' to a name a few. 

    Abir Goswami: TV actor Abir Goswami, who worked in shows like 'Kkusum', 'Hotel Kingston', 'Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli', 'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai', passed away on 31st May, 2013. It took everyone by surprise as the young actor suffered a massive heart attack. Abir, who was seen in 'Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara' underwent a surgery for Lymphoma - a kind of cancer tumour a year before his death. It was reported that Abir suffered a massive cardiac arrest when he was running on the treadmill at his gym. He was rushed to a hospital in Malad immediately which was of no use. 

    Rubina Shergill: Rubina Shergill, who played the second bahu Simran, a brave cop in Zee TV's Mrs Kaushik Ki Paanch Bahuein, passed away on 12th Jan, 2012. The actress was in coma for few weeks and was on ventilation support. Before her unfortunate death, she had also suffered an asthama attack on the sets and was rushed to the hospital. However, the beautiful actress suffered another attack which turned out to be fatal. We miss the beautiful talent.
