    Gone too soon: Like Pratyusha, these stars too committed suicide

    There is a darker side to the celeb life that we sometimes forget about, or at least try to ignore. It is not a coincidence that a lot of celebrities find themselves facing depression, anxiety and even severe mental disorders or illnesses and some find themselves feeling so stressed out and nervous that they turn to suicide as a last resort.
    Like television actor Pratyusha Banerjee, best known for her role in popular TV series Balika Vadhu, who ended her life on Friday, other famous people have committed suicide. Pratyusha was found hanging at her house in Mumbai.
    Here’s a list of other famous faces who committed suicide while their career was going places.

    Sai Prashanth
    Tamil TV actor Sai Prashanth, known for his performances in films such as Thegidi, Vadacurry, Neram and Mundhinam Paartheney, committed suicide late in March at his home in Virugambakkam in Chennai. According to police, the actor mentioned in the suicide note that he was taking the extreme step as he was depressed. Police recovered a suicide note, which said Prashant was depressed.

    Uday Kiran
    Apparently depressed over not getting films, Telugu actor Uday Kiran committed suicide by hanging himself in 2014. Kiran, 33, was survived by his wife Vishita.

    Silk Smitha
    South Indian cinema’s sex siren Silk Smitha committed suicide on September 23, 1996 at her Chennai apartment. Silk had acted in over 400 films. She was also seen in Kamal Haasan-Sridevi-starrer Hindi film Sadma. A fictionalised film on her life was made with Vidya Balan in the lead.

    Bollywood actor Divya Bharti jumped to death from her home on the fifth storey of an apartment building on April 5, 1993. She was only 19 at the time. Beginning her career with Telugu film Bobbilli Raja in 1990, she bagged Best Female Debut Filmfare award for Deewana in 1992. In her short-lived life in the film industry, she worked in around 14 movies. She was married to producer Sajid Nadiadwala. ( Read also : 7 fake celeb death rumors that scared us )

    Nafisa Joseph
    Former Miss India Nafisa Joseph committed suicide in her Mumbai flat in July 2004.
    She was 25. Nafisa was reportedly suffering from depression. A popular VJ on a music channel, Nafisa also worked as a model. Her parents alleged that she was depressed as her wedding was called off after she found out that her fiancé was still married. He had reportedly told her that he was divorced.

    Jiah Khan
    The death of Jiah Khan sparked a controversy with the actor’s mother accusing Sooraj Pancholi of abetting the suicide. She was found dead in her apartment on June 3, 2013. Jiah was seen in Nishabd with Amitabh Bachchan, among other films. She was said to be depressed over her career and relationship status. ( Can't Miss: Jiah Khan's last letter to Sooraj Pancholi )

    Kuljeet Randhawa
    Actor-model Kuljeet Randhawa was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her house in February 2006. She had left behind a suicide note addressed to co-actor Bhanu Uday in which she said no one was responsible for her death. The former Gladrags model had everything going for her in her professional life. The actor was part of TV series such as CATS, Special Squad and Kohinoor. However, friends said that she had been unlucky in love.
