Karan Singh Grover's journey on TV in a nutshell!

A Delhiite since birth, Karan is a hardcore Punjabi Sikh and moved to Saudi Arabia with his family at a young age where he studied in Dammam. He later moved to Mumbai and pursued his degree in Hotel Management at IHM Mumbai.

Initially thinking about getting a career in marketing, Karan went Oman and worked as a market executive in Sheraton Hotel.
However, fate had other plans planned for him, where he moved to Mumbai once again in 2004 and participated in Gladrags Manhunt Contest and went on to win the Most Popular Model' award.

There was a certain given belief considered back in the 2000s where models would go on to become actors. Karan was no different from that clan and decided to pursue acting. He went on to make his debut in a small role in Ekta Kapoor's 'Kitni Mast Hai Zindagi' followed by short roles in 'Princess Dollie Aur Uska Magic Bag' and 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay'.

But waiting for his big break, Karan made a roaring entry into the main league with his debut as a lead in the medical drama series, 'Dill Mill Gayye' which was a sequel to 'Sanjeevani'. The show not only became a humongous success but made the lead pair Karan Singh Grover and Shilpa Anand overnight sensations. Karan's portrayal of a carefree, fashionable, cool and caring medical intern was appreciated to infinity.

After three years in the show, Karan did not an out-an-out fiction show for a while where he participated in several reality shows like 'Fear Factor - Khatron Ke Khiladi x 3', 'Jhalak Dikhlaja Jaa 3' and hosted 'Zara Nach ke Dikha'.

What followed was a small stint in 'Dil Dosti Dance' till returning to playing the lead in a fiction show with 'Qubool Hai'. Another massive success added to his list, where his portrayal of the flamboyant Asad Khan made the fans drool over him all over again. Also, his chemistry with co-actress Surbhi Jyoti was greatly appreciated.

'Qubool Hai' was Karan's last fiction show and stays his last show as of yet, as he had bigger plans. What else can it be? Following the likes of actors like Rajeev Khandelwal and Sushant Singh Rajput, Karan Singh Grover became only amongst the few TV actors to successfully mark a debut in Bollywood with the film, 'Alone'. His second film was in the same year 2015, 'Hate Story 3' which was a major box office success adding another feather to his cap.
Did you know? A fact which not many know is, technically, 'Alone' isn't Karan's debut in Bollywood, where he acted in a film called, 'Bhram' in the year 2008 co-starring Dino Morea,Milind Soman and Sheetal Menon in the lead roles.

Apart from his professional life, Karan is known famously for his personal life too. His Casanova image on-screen has never seemed to have let go of him in the real life too. Karan married actress Shraddha Nigam in 2008 and divorced in about ten months. Two years later, Karan married co-star from 'Dill Mill Gayye', Jennifer Winget in 2012. However, this marriage also did not last much long, where the couple parted ways in 2014 with a still impending divorce. He is currently strongly rumoured to be dating his co-star from the film, Alone', Bipasha Basu, however, haven't publically accepted it.

Karan and Jennifer shared screen space with each other for the first time in 'Kasautii Zindagii Kay'.

Apart from films and acting, Karan is a massive fitness enthusiast (obvious, isn't it) and is also not religious as self-proclaimed.

An actor who has got big in Bollywood, we hope makes a comeback on television in a role which let his fans fall in love with him all over again. A small consolation is about him reportedly hosting the upcoming season of 'Nach Baliye'. We can just keep our fingers crossed!!
