One doesn’t simply mess with Dabangg Sinha!
A creep by the name of Parteek Goyal tweeted some very distasteful comments on her Twitter. Being the Dabangg lady that she is, Sonakshi lashed out at him and gave him a befitting reply! But unlike Sonakshi, who had hundreds of keyboard warriors/hardcore fans supporting her, you might be alone when you face online harassment! If you do face it, here are a few things you absolutely MUST do:
1) Identify the situation:
Don’t try to sweep it under the rug by calling it a “prank!” It is essential that you recognize the situation and take appropriate action, in order to protect other men/women like yourself!
2) ‘Ctrl + C’
Take screenshots! Not because they are a cool story on your timeline, but because they act as proof of your harasser’s misdeeds and give more credibility to your story. Just look at the effect Sonakshi’s screenshots had.
3) Block the Offender
After gathering enough evidence about the harassment, block your offender on all possible platforms, including your cellphone.
4) Make Contact
Get in touch with the website owners, via their ‘Contact Us’ page. Many social platforms, like Facebook, have their own dedicated chat services and extensive measures to take actions against cyber abuse.
5) Call the Cops
Now that your basics are in place, call the cops on your harasser! In India, we have a dedicated Cyber Crime Cell to nab these offenders!
