When asked about her pregnancy, the actress, who was last seen on the show Meri Bhabhi, was quoted by Tellychakkar as saying, "We had planned our babies at a short interval so that I can get back to work. We are really elated, excited and ready to enjoy the drill all over again. We are hoping it's a girl this time, so that the family gets completed." About fatherhood, Shabbir was quoted by TOI as saying, "I felt like an older brother to Azai till now as I only play with him rather than performing any fatherly duties. I think after he grows a little older, I'll start feeling like a father." Kanchi and Shabbir got married in 2011, and the couple have one-year-old son, Azai, who was born in July 2014.
