The great comedian Kapil Sharma is now very much satisfied with his career growth. He started his career from theatre and with all hard work and struggle, today he is one of the most adorable stand-up comedian India. Regarding his success he said, “People noticed me when I came in Laughter Challenge years ago, but nobody is aware of the work that I did in theatre. People usually feel that I am an overnight star, but this is not true. Whatever I am today is because of my hard work and struggle. Kapil Sharma completed his higher studies from Hindu College in Amritsar where he showed his talent. However his talent was recognized by many colleges, who offered him scholarship in return of his representing them in various youth festivals.

Kapil Sharma got his first television break on TV for a show, ‘Hasde hasande ravo’, in a Punjabi channel MH-1 in 2005.
Later he appeared in Great Indian Laughter Challenge, one of the nine reality television shows he has won. Kapil became the winner of this show in 2007 for which he won 10 lakhs as prize money at the age of 26.
Then he participated in Sony Entertainment Television’s Comedy Circus. He won six seasons of “Comedy Circus” out of seven seasons he participated in.

On 25 September 2013, a fire broke out on the sets of the show Comedy Nights with Kapil at Film City in Goregaon causing the entire set to collapse and an estimated loss of ₹20 Crores but fortunately, there were no casualties. Kapil Sharma made a new set with the support of his friends and well wishers.
