It would be an understatement to say that Kapil Sharma became a household name after astounding popularity his show Comedy Nights with Kapil Sharma garnered. Since over two years now, the show has ruled people’s hearts and their prime time. Kapil has a lot to credit to this show because thanks to Comedy Nights, he grew from a mere comedian to a star.
Now, as he gears up for his first feature film Kis Kisko Pyar Karun, there is a general contention among the masses on his future plans with regard to the show. He in his interview to a leading entertainment daily, reveals why the show is an integral part of him and the reason why he can’t discontinue hosting it despite tight schedule and health scares. When asked if he would leave Comedy Nights with Kapil he says, “Will never do that. This is the show that actually brought me where I am. How can I discontinue it? I do not think of Comedy Nights With Kapil as work. I think of it as pleasure. I enjoy it so much.”
Well, the grapevine was rife with rumours that Sharma will soon discontinue the show, and quite understandably so. Recently, Arshad Warsi and Sajid Khan were roped in to host an episode each as Sharma was unable to make it, due to some health issues. Also, the channel has launched a new roast comedy show with Kapil’s competitors in it, vying to be nation’s favourite telly stars! Speaking about the same Sharma says, “I had no choice but to take bed rest due to my acute back ache, therefore Sajid and Arshad had to keep the show going. I had no choice.”
Lastly, he says that the show means a lot to him. For Sharma, hosting Comedy Nights is beyond fame, money and popularity. “What I have really earned today is not just name, fame and money . I have got the true love of so many people. I have the blessings of elders across the world. This is my real wealth,” he says sounding emotional.
So, Kapil Sharma fans give your doubts a rest! There’s no way that the show is going to end
