A couple of days back, we read that ‘Hitler Didi’ fame actress Rati Pandey has been chosen to play the part of the new woman in Suraj’s (Anas Rashid) life in Shashi Sumeet Mittal’s ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’. The idea sound perfect due to the fact that Rati and Anas have been dating in real life and their togetherness onscreen would have worked wonders for the show.
However, recently Rati denied the news of being approached by the makers of DABH, thus dampening our hopes to see her on-screen with her beau.
And now, word has it that actress Shefali Sharma of ‘Bani – Ishq Da Kalma’ fame may enter the show. The new girl will be introduced by the matriarch Bhabho (Neelu Vaghela) who is back to being a strict disciplinarian in the house after her dearest daughter-in-law Sandhya’s (Deepika Singh) death. Bhabho will decide to hook her son Suraj with a new woman to help him move on and forget his past. This new woman will be Lalima – the daughter of the man to whom Suraj had sold his sweets shops. Lalima will have a mammoth task in hand as winning Suraj’s heart won’t be a cakewalk for her.
Whether Shefali gets the coveted role or Rati bags it, is still a mystery; but if you were to choose the girl for Suraj, then who would have been your best bet? Which television actress would fit the role?
