Venue
While the wedding will take place amid close family and friends at Mira’s Chhatarpur farmhouse, a grand post-wedding party is arranged at a posh Gurgaon Hotel. Time and date is given as, "Tuesday, July 7, 7 to 10 PM at Grand Ballroom, The Oberoi, Gurgoan." Don’t gate crash!
The tea-tale on invitation card
Pankaj Kapoor being a tea connoisseur, Shahid suggested having tea in invitation card. Card designer Ravish Kapoor found tea sommelier Anamika Singh perfect to place the order to fulfil Shahid’s tea wish. There were four special blended teas from Anandini Himalaya Tea carefully packaged in handmade muslin potlis. The tea is sourced from Manjhee Valley, Dharamsala.
Wedding card details
Shahid wanted less of gold highlights on wedding card hence card designer Ravish Kapoor took special care. Only ‘Mira and Shahid’ is gold highlight one. And did you know Shahid wanted "M" above "S" or they should be placed on same level. Groom-to-be Sasha was very particular about everything, about the peacock's design, shape and other details.
Wedding reception
A gala wedding reception will be held on July 12 in Mumbai! Excited?
Guests
Shahid Kapoor’s father – Pankaj Kapoor, step mom Supriya Pathak and step bro Ruhaan Kapoor will be present. There was also news that Shahid’s step dad Rajesh Khattar will be present along with wife Vandana and also Shahid’s mom Neelima Azim would attend the wedding. It will also be attended by leaders of Radha Soami Satsang Beas group as both Shahid and Mira’s family are members of the group. The guest list of Mumbai wedding reception is however sealed but we expect it to be a starry affair. It would be interesting if we catch a glimpse of Shahid’s exes, especially Saif and Kareena as she was the first one to know about the wedding.
Wedding Rituals
Shahid and Mira will be blessed by three moms – Neelima Azim, Supriya Pathak and Vandana Sajnani. It is going to be a close-knit affair.
Groom’s wedding dress
Apparently, Shahid will be wearing 10 different outfits which have been designed by Shahid’s friend Kunal Rawal. Shahid’s attires will have lot of festive colors, tonal, color blocks and a happy color scheme. His wardrobe would be consisting of bandhgala, achkans, sherwanis, kurta churidar-bandis and also some western wear.
Mira’s bridal attire
The pretty bride’s wedding trousseau has been designed by Anamika Khanna. The couple’s attire would be colour-coordinated. So cute!
Menu
The wedding menu is going to be a vegetarian affair since both the families are followers of Radha Soami Satsang Beas, the menu will be strictly vegetarian. The after-party menu will have a mix of Indian and continental cuisine. Also, there will be a special stall of Jaipuri paans in varieties of dry fruits, chocolate flavoured, rose, mango, gulkand and orange.
Best Man
Shahid’s best man will be his half-brother - Ishaan Khattar. Ishaan is an aspiring director working with Abhishek Chaubey and will also make his debut with Vikas Bahl’s next.
Honeymoon
There will not be any honeymoon for this couple. As Shahid will be busy with his TV stint as judge on ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, the couple won’t be getting any lone time. Pssst! We heard that Mira might make a TV appearance on JDJ
The wedding hustle bustle
Shahid’s step mom Supriya Pathak said, “Just like any other normal wedding house, ours is also full of hustle bustle.”
