Shahid, 34, and Mira, 21, reportedly met at a 'Satsang' as both their families are followers of the religious group Radha Soami Satsang Beas, a philosophical organisation based on the spiritual teachings of all religions.
Earlier in the day, the newlyweds stepped out in the lobby of hotel Trident, Gurgaon for less than a minute to pose for shutterbugs. Otherwise, it was a guarded affair, with all details under wraps.
A grand wedding reception is due to be held in Mumbai on July 12, and it is likely to be attended by Bollywood's glitterati, which was absent at the Delhi wedding.
