Television actor Raman Handa of ‘Rakhi Ka Swayamvar’ and ‘Hello Pratibha’ fame recently went for a registrar marriage with his fiancée Divya Arya. The couple had the roka ceremony on May 10, but decided for a court marriage before their vedic wedding ceremony.
Explaining more on the matter, Raman says, "Now a days due to the example of broken marriages in Bollywood and TV, people has lost trust in actors when it comes to relationship or commitment; especially, if a guy is an actor, it is a task for him to earn trust in relationship and convincing the girl's parents is quite a job. Everybody wants a business man or a professional for their daughters. However, before giving their daughters to an actor, parents think thrice. It happened with me as well. Divya Arya is a non-industry girl, though her sister Shraddha Arya is an actor. The pressure on both of us was the same. We had to convince our parents that we will stick to our decision of marriage. And we both believe in "evil eye" concept. So for the sake of security and assurance to our parents we decided to tie the knot in the court before we actually get married as per our family rituals. But we won't stay together under the same roof till we get married publicly.”
Throwing light on his vedic wedding plans, he says, "It's my childhood dream to get married in a grand way; so I don't want to compromise and let go of my dream That's why our wedding as per the Hindu rituals will take place on the November 26,2015.”
