There is no doubt that SAB TV's Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma is one of longest running shows in the comedy space currently.
Running consecutively from the past seven years, the show initially came across as a loud and stereotypical show which was simplistic to the point of idiocy. But in no time did people start loving it or for that matter, living it!
While it currently is a staple in every household attracting a large fan following from every age group, we bring to you some pros and cons of the most loved show in the comedy space today.
5 reasons why one should watch Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma!
    Family show
There is a dearth of television shows that aim at promoting bonding and unity but the content of such shows proves to be too adult' for kids. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma in its full stupidity forms the perfect show for viewing for all in family.
Promotes bonding of people belonging to different religions
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma depicts characters in typical Indian stereotypes such as the Gujarati businessman Jethalal, the always jovial and funny Punjabi man Sodi and the morally upright middle class Marathi manoos Bhide all living in one colony in harmony like one big family.
    Promotes Indian culture
The great Indian dream of living in a joint family and the repeated upholding of our Bhartiya sanskruti rings a bell in the head of the feudalistic past of our society. Since, we have a fondness for regressive television shows Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma comes to our rescue. Also, the show has never stepped back from celebrating any festival be it Janmashtami, Diwali, Navratri, Ganesh Chaturthi, Lodhi or Pongal.
    Daily dose of laughter
Life in today's DNA age is much stressed. People do not have time to share a laugh with their near and dear ones too. While we juggle with our daily schedule all throughout the day, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma gives us an opportunity to let our hair down, relax and de-stress.
    Closer to life stories
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma picks up topics which a common man faces in his daily life. Annoying relatives, quarrelling society members and the daily political nuances which affect a mango person's life are well portrayed in the storyline of the show.

5 reasons why one should not watch Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma!
    Over stretched episodes
The episodes of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashma are overstretched and so dramatic that it can put one to sleep. Some episodes end up stretching for about two weeks which leads to boring the audience! At this time it merely seems like the makers are rolling out episodes just for the heck of it.
    Repetition of episodes and drama
Wonder how many times Popatlal was on the verge of getting married but did not? Well, the episode of getting him married is a repeated never ending affair! Also, wonder why Sundarlal is always asking for money from his jijaji' and when Jethalal refuses, his behna' comes to his rescue. Patent dialogues are very irritating at times.
    Lack of innovation
It has been seven years with the same kind of drama repeating itself over and over again! Why does it have to be that out of all the people, it is Jethalal who always gets stuck into something or the other and his friend and guide Taarak Mehta is the only one who can help him out? The show needs to undergo a lot of innovation in terms of creating unique and appealing stories rather than projecting something which is very predictable.
    Over acting
If Dayaben's voice sounds funny to some, it is a source of irritation for many. Maintaining originality and creating laughter is the expertise of a successful comedy show. The tone and dialect is certainly not funny.
Screen time is wasted in imbecile conversations
Earliest episodes were masterpieces. The conversations between the members of the family were funny and impeccable but now the dialogues are an unwanted gibber-jabber.
