Many of you may remember watching the serial ‘Heena’ on Sony Entertainment Television in 1998. ‘Heena’ struck the chord with the viewers for its very unique presentation. First, its plot centered around the day to day life of a Muslim couple left the audience hooked. On top of that, despite its old wine in a new bottle concept, the presentation, dialogues, costumes and other aspects invited a loyal fan following.
For those who are unaware, ‘Heena’ told the story of an innocent, caring, loving, clean-hearted and devoted wife who suffers insults and heartbreak due to the other woman in her husband Sameer’s life. Sameer’s parents refuse to accept his ladylove Ruby in their family and force him to get married to Heena instead. Sameer fulfills the wishes of his parents reluctantly but soon Ruby re-enters his life to unleash havoc in his married life. Despite befriending Heena, Sameer divorces her to be with Ruby. However, Ruby cheats on him later.
Simone Singh, Rahul Bhatt and Rakhi Vijan played the roles of Heena, Sameer and Ruby respectively.
