Novelist Chetan Bhagat was trending today thanks to his new stint as a host of dance reality show ‘Nach Baliye 7’ which went on air recently.
Brickbats and bouquets both fell in Chetan’s kitty for his new endeavour. However, one Twitter user crossed the line by badmouthing Chetan with none else but Mrs. Funny Bones aka Twinkle Khanna by tweeting to her.
The follower wrote: "You are an amazing writer, you don't need to change your name to Chetali Bhagat."
The quick-witted Twinkle, replied saying: "I do! He gets to judge Nach Baliye and I get to judge if that gross thing on my floor is dog puke or poop #SuchIsLife."
Not the one to keep quiet after reading the tongue in cheek tweet, Chetan answered Twinkle by tweeting: "Well, I'd say you have the bigger challenge girl.. By the way, how do you tell the difference between the two anyway?."
However, Twinkle refused to accept defeat and went on to post: "It's a short life-if lucky enough to get opportunities to do diverse things then one should @chetan_bhagat write a bestseller about it too."
This time, Chetan’s reply to Twinkle was aimed at taking potshot at her acting achievements in a subtle way. He wrote: "You nailed it.. It is YOLO.. Nobody offered me Barsaat, or Baadshah... Else you know.."
Twinkle, too, got personal by taking at a dig at Chetan’s outer appearance by tweeting: "Well if you were taller, had more hair you could have got Bobby Deol's role & if were way cooler, than SRK would be jobless .”
And finally, their Twitter battle came to an end. And Chetan’s last tweet was: “Ok seriously guys, was just a fun banter with @mrsfunnybones. She is fun and has a sense of humour in her tweets. Silly to read more into it.”
Twinkle chose not to reply to this.
We think Chetan was right in defending his dignity. After all, which person in his right state of mind would like to be treated like a trash bin? However, there was no point in firing personal jibes. That took the cake!
