This March, Shweta Tiwari, who is best known for her role in ‘Kasautii Zindagi Kay’ and for winning the 4th Season of ‘Bigg Boss’, will be back on the boob tube in &TV’s ‘Begusarai’.
Now coming to the interesting bit about Shweta’s role in ‘Begusarai’. We hear that her character named Bindiya is on the lines of Gauahar Khan’s part in YRF’s ‘Ishaqzaade’. Gauahar had played a strong-minded prostitute cum dancer called Chaand Bibi in the Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor starrer.
‘Begusarai’ will portray life in the namesake semi-town based in Bihar and Shweta will be seen playing the role of a vamp-ish woman for the first time in her more than two decades long career.
A source close to the show says that it will explore the feudal system in Bihar that is still rampant. "It is a story of two brothers who fight over land. It is set in a joint family and explores the life of Thakurs in that area," says the source. Director Ravindra Gautam of 'Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami' fame has hit shows like 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hai', 'Pavitra Rishta' and 'Madhubala' to his credit. He has directed the first fifteen episodes of 'Begusarai'.
The promo of the series has been directed by Bollywood film maker Tigmanshu Dhulia which adds another feather to its cap. The show will go on air March 2nd Monday to Friday at 10 pm on &TV.
