On relationship front, Upen was quoted saying in an interview, "I thought I'd be with 10 Miss Wrongs and then find the one Miss right. But, I am over that phase now. There is nothing more important in a relationship than mutual respect. My search is on, and when I do finally find the girl, it will be for keeps." I

It was all over the news that once upon a time, Upen Patel was in a serious relationship with model Shamita Singha but they soon parted ways

After so many awards, Upen bagged more brand endorsement projects including Tuscan Verve, Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Provogue and D'damas Desire.

In 2002, Upen Patel won Zee TV's supermodel hunt and then started off his modelling career doing ads for brands such as Hugo Boss, Paul Smith and Zegna.

In the fashion world, Upen Patel has walked the fashion runway for Indian designers Wendell Rodrick, Vikram Phadnis (with Salman Khan) and Westside (with Yuvraj Singh).

Besides Bollywood, Upen Patel has been fortunate to share screen space with English actress and model Helen Flanagan, as they acted together in a short film.

Not many of you would know that Upen Patel took a break from acting in 2010 only to complete a diploma course in film making from the NIFT in the UK and got a diploma degree in scriptwriting from Raindance in the UK.

In the year 2010 only, Upen Patel completed a summer camp in Acting at the Lee Strasberg Actors' Studio in Los Angeles.

Besides modelling and acting, Upen Patel loves to chill out with friends and go out dining to his favourite restaurants

Upen holds no qualms in admitting that he once had a wild, partying and womanizing image when he was young, reckless and flamboyant, and he deserved it at that time

Reportedly, Upen also made his debut in French cinema as the leading man in a action thriller film directed by Yann Danh

On working in South films, Upen once said in an interview, "Actors and directors down South are so humble, which is quite a contrast to Bollywood. The language has posed a few problems, but I am determined to pick it up. I have an instructor on the set who explains to me the meaning of my dialogues and prepares me for the delivery.

Even in his next film 'Money Hai Toh Honey Hai', Upen might have managed to put his best foot forward and entertain viewers but the film failed to emerge as a commercial success

Upen's third film, Shakalaka Boom Boom in 2007 turned out to be a disaster and a sheer disappointment, though he still managed to impress the critics with his performance.

If rumours are to believed, Upen and Shamita declared their love publicly but somehow things went so messy at the time of their break-up.

Upen acted in a short film 'The Runaway' alongside Helen Flanagan for which they shot extensively in London. I

Soon after Upen started working with Helen Flanagan, there was a heated discussion between the two and Upen grabbed her by arms and forced her into his white vehicle as their argument further became intense.

Gossip columns were buzzing with newsflash that Upen thew a glass of wine on Shamita's face in front of everyone at a Mumbai nightclub

Surprisingly, before entering into films, Upen was seen as a cook on the show 'Karen Anand's Cook Na Kaho'.
