TV actresses who have become victims of domestic violence or have been abused, and yet the abusers roam free! Have a dekko at some of the most appalling abuse cases involving Indian TV actresses.
Munmun Dutta: Mummun who is famous for the role of Babita in the hit serial Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was allegedly attacked and physically abused by her ex-boyfriend Armaan Kohli who she was dating at the time. In 2008, in Mauritius, he apparently pushed her down a flight of stairs and local police had to get involved. Talk about anger issues.
Dimpy Mahajan: Guess which couple has finally parted ways? Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly. Remember their much-hyped TV wedding? Just a few months into their wedding, Dimpy filed a F.I.R. against Rahul alleging that he kicked and beat her. His first wife also divorced him for similar reasons
Shweta Tiwari: Shweta Tiwari’s first marriage to Raja Chaudhary ended in divorce because of the latter’s abusive ways. According to Shweta, she was living in a hell, when she was his wife. Raja has been accused of breaking and entering into Shweta’s house and even slapping her then-boyfriend Abhinav Kohli.
Sofia Hayat: Everyone is aware of the anger issues Armaan Kohli has. As a participant in Bigg Boss 7, he lost his cool with British singer Sofia Hayat and pushed her during one of their fights. She even filed a F.I.R. against Armaan which resulted in him getting arrested from the Bigg Boss 7 house.
Pratyusha Banerjee: TV’s former favourite bahu, Pratyusha lodged an F.I.R. against boyfriend Makrand for abusing her. She was verbally abused by him and even threatened with physically harm. Frightened, the actress rushed to the police station to file a complaint.
Rucha Gujrati: Television actress Rucha Gujrati got married to chemical engineer Mitul Sanghvi in 2010. In just a few months the marriage hit a rough patch and Rucha filed a F.I.R against her husband and in-laws for physically and verbally abusing her. Apparently her husband hit her father too. She got divorced in April last year.
Monaz Mevawala: The TV actress was driving her car in one of the most crowded streets of MumbaiIn the process of overtaking the auto rickshaw in front of her, her car was scratched and the side mirror of the auto broke. The auto driver got extremely angry and followed her. He took out a bamboo stick and tried to hit her car and threatened her with physically harm. The actress locked herself in the car, while the auto driver yanked out her windscreen wiper and even banged on the car with his hands.
Paridhi Sharma: In a shocking revelation, reportedly the Jodha Akbar actress Paridhi Sharma was sexually abused by the director of the show, Santram Verma. This is not the first time he has been accused of something like this. A few months back, one of the actors, Ankita Dubey had come up with a complaint against the director where she accused him of harassing her. Even though Santram Verma has outright denied it, we want to know what Paridhi has to say.
Chahat Khanna: Chahat Khanna and Kanan Malhotra made a lovely onscreen and off-screen couple. But after dating for two years the couple parted ways. Apparently it was because Kanan had been physically abusing Chahat. Even though Kanan has refused all of these claims, we hear that Chahat reportedly spoke about it.
